Harvey water softener: scale and drinking-filter notes for HarveyArc buyers

I installed a Harvey water softener in the UK and found less hard-water residue on taps, the shower screen and kitchen surfaces; I also added a separate filter.

A white Harvey Water Softeners appliance installed vertically inside a white cabinet, connected with plumbing pipes and hoses on its left side.
An under-sink reverse osmosis water filtration system installed inside a white kitchen cabinet, showing a white pressure tank on the left and vertical filter canisters, tubing, and a filter wrench on the right.

UK water is extremely hard, so a water softener is essential. Once you have used one, you realise how convenient it is. Just imagine how wonderful it is that taps, the shower screen and kitchen worktops no longer have hard-water marks.

In theory, tap water can be drunk directly, but it tastes unpleasant. When installing the water softener, you can also install a filter, and the water that comes out is pure water.

If you want one installed, message me. I have a referral code, so we can both get several free bags of salt. Let’s claim the offer together.

Models in your region

The owner shows a Harvey water softener installed in the UK, but the source does not identify its complete model. HarveyArc is therefore a regional reference rather than a confirmed match for the photographed appliance; its official UK description lists a non-electric twin-cylinder design with WiFi i-Lid salt monitoring. The separate drinking-water evidence also distinguishes softening from filtration.

What the owner noticed

The owner’s main reported benefit is a reduction in visible hard-water marks on taps, the shower screen and kitchen worktops. This is a household observation from the owner’s installation, not a measured water-hardness result or a guarantee that every Harvey model produces the same outcome.

The account also presents the softener as a convenience upgrade for a very hard-water area. The source does not state the installation date, the water-hardness reading, the exact appliance model or how much cleaning was required before and after installation, so those practical details remain unknown.

Softening is not the same as filtering

The owner describes ordinary tap water as unpleasant-tasting and recommends adding a separate filter alongside the softener. Harvey’s UK guidance distinguishes the two jobs: softening uses salt to regenerate resin, while a filter is a separate drinking-water arrangement. The owner’s phrase “pure water” is not a measured purification result, and the source does not identify the filter or its filtration method.

HarveyArc · UK

Harvey’s UK guidance says softened water contains added sodium and excludes infant feeds and medically prescribed low- or zero-sodium diets from softened drinking-water use. Buyers with those needs should confirm the separate drinking-water arrangement rather than assume that a generic filter or softener provides suitable water.

UK model and buying context

HarveyArc is described by Harvey as a UK-made, non-electric twin-cylinder softener with WiFi i-Lid salt monitoring. Because the owner’s full model number is missing, readers cannot safely use this account to confirm that those features are present on the photographed appliance.

The owner offers a referral code that could give both parties several free bags of salt. This is a referral incentive, not evidence about the softener’s performance or its ongoing salt requirements.
