How is an automatic litter box really to use? Here is a real-use account from a four-cat household!
Neakasa M1 Plus: cleaning and daily use with four cats
I use the Neakasa M1 Plus with four cats. On cleaning day, I lift out the litter chamber to wash it; even my six-kilogram cat has room to turn inside.

Since I’m home for the weekend, I’m giving the cats’ automatic litter box a clean. I’m using the Neakasa M1 Plus. With one-button litter replacement, you just pull the waste bag out and wrap it up. It’s seriously great for lazy cat owners. Open the locking latch on the side, and you can remove the litter chamber. Spray on some litter-box cleaner, give it a few scrubs with a small brush, and it’s spotless. There aren’t really any hard-to-reach spots, so I usually only wash it once a month.
Once it’s washed, just leave it to air-dry. The main unit can’t be washed—just wipe it clean with wet wipes. Put the litter chamber back on and add fresh litter. I have to say, the opening is really large. Even my six-kilogram cat can turn around freely inside. It has six sets of infrared animal-presence sensors and gravity sensing, plus a partial-gear design, so you don’t have to worry about it trapping your cat. The safety is excellent.

It also has an upgraded odor-blocking seal that locks in smells. It scoops as soon as the cat has finished, and the waste compartment is enclosed too, so even people in small homes don’t have to worry about odors. The Silicone 2.0 material is very scratch-resistant, and the seamless litter chamber prevents urine leaks. Most importantly, it connects to a phone app and supports multi-cat recognition, so you can see exactly how they’re using the litter box. The waste compartment also holds 11 liters, so I don’t have to ask friends to help out when I go away for a few days over New Year’s.
Overall, the Neakasa M1 Plus litter box has really saved me a lot of trouble. If you’re a lazy cat owner, you can’t go wrong with it.

Models in your region
The owner identifies the product as the Neakasa M1 Plus. Official Neakasa listings for both the EU and US identify an M1 Plus open-top automatic litter box, but the regional pages do not establish that every bundle or support term is identical. The EU listing specifies the model’s updated sealing and sensor features.

What the cleaning routine involves
The owner’s routine is straightforward but not completely hands-off: the owner removes the litter basin through its side lock, sprays cleaner, brushes it, waits for it to dry, and wipes the main unit instead of washing it. The owner says the owner usually performs this wash once a month. The owner’s account is a personal routine, not a manufacturer maintenance schedule.
For waste handling, the owner says a button starts litter changing and that pulling and tightening the waste bag packages it. The official EU listing calls this Pull & Wrap waste disposal, so the convenience feature is supported, while the owner’s claimed ease reflects the owner’s experience.
Space, capacity and cat access
The owner says the opening is large enough for their 12-jin cat (about 6 kg) to turn around freely. This is an observation about that cat, not a maximum-weight rating; buyers should check the regional product’s usable dimensions.
The owner describes the waste compartment as 11 liters and says it lets the owner’s leave for several days without asking a friend to help. The official EU specification is 11.23 L, while the owner’s travel conclusion depends on the number of cats, waste output and the trip length; it should not be treated as a guaranteed unattended interval.
Safety, odor control and monitoring
The owner attributes the product’s safety to six sets of infrared presence sensors, gravity sensing and a partial-gear design. The EU listing independently confirms six sets of infrared sensors, but those sensor specifications alone cannot establish the owner’s broader safety conclusion or guarantee that a cat cannot be caught.
The owner says the upgraded odor-sealing strip and enclosed waste compartment help contain smells, particularly in a small home. The EU listing confirms the added odor-sealing strip and Pull & Wrap waste disposal; odor performance in a particular room remains an owner-reported experience rather than a measured result.
The owner says the unit connects to a phone app and supports multi-cat recognition for tracking toilet habits. The official EU and US pages confirm app tracking or monitoring, while the supplied official excerpts do not independently confirm every multi-cat recognition function described by the owner.
Regional buying checks
The EU listing specifies support for clumping litter and says non-clumping wood pellets are unsuitable. That is an important purchase and setup check because the owner only says to add new litter; the owner’s account does not identify the litter type the owner uses.
The EU page lists a 7.17 L litter capacity, a filter accepting particles up to 3 mm in diameter and 10 mm in length, and a 24-month manufacturing-defect guarantee. Equivalent US figures and guarantee terms remain unconfirmed, so US buyers should verify them locally rather than transfer EU details.
The official EU and US pages identify the same Neakasa M1 Plus model, but bundle contents and support terms need to be checked for the selected store. The owner’s experience can therefore guide questions about cleaning and daily operation, but it does not prove identical regional packages.
