NETGEAR Orbi 770 Series: Wi-Fi after a 2,000 Mbps broadband upgrade

I switched to the NETGEAR Orbi 770 after upgrading to 2,000 Mbps broadband. I'm happy with my iPhone Air speed test and the stability of my smart-home devices.

My home broadband was upgraded to 2,000 Mbps.

I switched to the Orbi 770.

My M3 MacBook Pro does not support Wi-Fi 7, but it does support Wi-Fi 6E.

I’m already very satisfied that the iPhone Air’s wireless speed test can reach this result.

My smart-home devices are running very smoothly, and everything has been stable so far.

What the owner tested

The post places the owner’s Orbi 770 switch in the context of a 2,000 Mbps home broadband upgrade. The owner reports being satisfied with the iPhone Air’s wireless speed-test result, but this is one local observation rather than a repeatable performance test.

The owner also reports that smart-home devices are running smoothly and that the setup has been stable so far. This is a current personal observation, not evidence of long-term reliability across different homes, device counts or network conditions.

Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6E compatibility

The owner’s M3 MacBook Pro supports Wi-Fi 6E but not Wi-Fi 7. It can therefore connect to the Orbi 770, while the official product evidence states that Wi-Fi 6E clients cannot use every Wi-Fi 7 feature. Buyers should check their client devices before paying for Wi-Fi 7-specific capability.

What the regional RBE772 listings add

For US buyers, the official RBE772 reference is a two-pack Wi-Fi 7 tri-band mesh system with 2.5 Gig wired connections and backhaul, plus an advertised aggregate wireless rate of up to 11 Gbps. These are listed specifications, not the owner’s measured result.

For UK buyers, the official RBE772 reference is also a two-pack in the Orbi 770 Wi-Fi 7 family with 2.5 Gig connectivity. Because the source does not identify the exact pack, confirm the local bundle, power adapter and support terms before purchase.
