Regional models, sales markets and differences
The Narwal Xiaoyao 002 Max (云鲸逍遥002 Max) uses a rolling track mop that rinses itself as it cleans. It is sold in mainland China. You may also encounter the name Narwal Freo 002 Max in English coverage and cross-border marketplace listings. The Flow and Flow 2 are related models sold through Narwal’s regional stores, with different advertised specifications.
An owner writing on SMZDM on September 10, 2026 describes how it handles crumbs, hair and kitchen spills in a busy family home.
Similar names can hide differences in hardware, software and local support. Here are some of the markets where these models are offered, as of September 11, 2026. Check the exact version before ordering, especially from a cross-border seller.
| Model or listing name | Where it is offered | How it compares with the 002 Max | Key differences and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xiaoyao 002 Max (逍遥002 Max) | Mainland China; listed in Narwal’s Chinese product guide | China-market model | Reported specifications: 25,000Pa, 250+ obstacle types, 45°C mop rinsing, 12N pressure, NarGPT 2.0 and electrolyzed water. Standard water-tank and slim plumbed-dock versions are listed separately. |
| Freo 002 Max | Marketplace offer verified on Joom’s Spain-facing listing, from seller JDST online | English naming also used for the Chinese launch; a distinct official version for markets outside mainland China is not established | The seller describes a track-mop water-tank version. Confirm the actual unit’s regional model, app compatibility and warranty; the English name alone does not establish different hardware or international firmware. |
| Narwal Flow | Official regional sites: United States and Australia | Closely related rolling-track design; not confirmed identical to the 002 Max | 22,000Pa rather than the source’s 25,000Pa. The US page advertises 200+ obstacle types, 45°C/113°F rinsing and 12N pressure. Verify local dock and voice options. |
| Narwal Flow 2 | Official regional sites: United States and Australia | A later Flow model with higher advertised suction | The Australian page specifies 31,000Pa, 60°C/140°F track-mop water and a 7,000mAh battery. These are different specifications from the 002 Max described here. |
Why “Freo 002 Max” needs that distinction: Gizmochina’s September 2025 report uses this English name while explicitly describing a launch in China. Together with the seller listing, that confirms the name is in circulation, but does not establish a separately localized model for markets outside mainland China.
The account below describes one household’s experience; the owner gives no length of ownership. Avoiding pet waste and handling dust for 120 days are claims in the post, rather than demonstrated long-term results. Its “one go” cleaning description includes automatic repeat cleaning.

Living with the Xiaoyao 002 Max
A busy household, and less floor cleaning to do
With two more little ones at home, there are always snack crumbs and fallen hairs on the floor. In the kitchen, soy sauce or soup occasionally gets spilled, too. I had already tried several robot vacuums. Some barely wiped the floor, dragging a dirty mop back and forth until things became even dirtier. Others got stuck as soon as they encountered clutter. Their obstacle avoidance was frustratingly unreliable. It was only after getting the Narwal Xiaoyao 002 Max that I felt the housework had really become easier.
A track mop that washes itself as it goes
The feature this model is probably best known for is its AI-controlled, fresh-water track mopping. It is completely different from traditional round mop pads. A wide, substantial track mop applies a constant 12N of downward force—like a floor washer scrubbing firmly against the floor. Warm fresh water at 45°C (113°F), delivered through 16 spray openings, rinses the track continuously while it mops. A built-in scraper removes the dirty water, so it does not carry that grime around the house and soil the floor again.
When it encounters a heavily soiled patch, such as dried kitchen grease or spilled sauce, it recognizes the mess and automatically washes and mops again. In my experience, it gets the mess clean in one go. The floor feels fresh afterward, with very little water left behind. The children can run around barefoot straight away!
Hair pickup and carpet cleaning
With 25,000Pa of suction and an anti-tangle design across the machine, its cleaning feels unbeatable to me. I shed hair at home, but the 002 has a conical roller brush and reversing side brushes, so hair is less likely to wrap around the roller. I do not have to untangle it by hand after every cleaning run. I imagine pet owners will like the sound of that, too.
Carpets are taken care of as well. When it reaches one, it automatically raises the track mop and switches to its deep carpet-cleaning mode. It then lowers the roller brush to increase cleaning pressure and pull out hair and dust lodged deep in the carpet. I no longer feel I need to go over the carpet separately with a vacuum.
Getting around clutter and into corners
The combination of AI binocular vision and laser navigation feels very smart. It can recognize more than 250 kinds of household obstacles, including charging cables, slippers, building blocks and pet poop, and steer around them accurately instead of pushing clutter all over the floor.
Its cleaning decisions are smart, too. It prioritizes vacuuming for dry debris, switches to mopping for liquid spills, and avoids hazardous messes. Along walls and in corners, the track mop extends outward and the side brushes reverse into gaps, getting within millimeters of the edge. I no longer need to finish those dusty corners by hand.
It also has a claimed 4cm (about 1.6-inch) obstacle-crossing capability, so it can get over the thresholds and sliding-door tracks at home. The body is only 9.5cm (about 3.7 inches) tall, allowing it to clean under beds and sofas.
Voice commands and a dock that handles the routine
The older people in my family find Narwal’s NarGPT 2.0 voice interaction convenient. There is no need to open the app: saying “Ni hao Yun jing”—the Chinese wake phrase, meaning “Hello, Narwal”—lets them ask it to clean a particular area or check the machine’s status.
It can understand less precise instructions, too. For example, “Clean up the spilled milk in the dining room” is enough for it to locate the area and get to work. The older members of the household find it easy to use.
The multifunction dock automatically collects dust, washes the track with warm fresh water, and dries the mop with warm air. It also uses electrolyzed water to help suppress bacteria and odors. The dust bag only needs emptying roughly every 120 days. Choose the version with a water supply and drain connection, and it can also refill and dispose of wastewater automatically, without repeatedly carrying tanks back and forth to fill and empty them.
Why it has made a difference at home
Since getting the Xiaoyao 002 Max, I feel as though we have gained more than a basic vacuum-and-mop robot. It feels like a household cleaning helper that judges the mess and adjusts its cleaning approach by itself.
I think it suits large homes, families with pets or children, people who want to do less housework, and anyone particular about clean floors. Just imagine not having to tidy every loose item off the floor before each run: you come home from work, call on Narwal to start, and save a large chunk of time on chores. That is a pretty good way to live!

What to check before buying in your region
For this household, the biggest benefit was less hands-on work around crumbs, hair and wet kitchen messes. The rolling mop’s ongoing rinsing is central to that experience. The account is most useful for understanding the cleaning routine; it leaves long-term upkeep and reliability unanswered.
There is one terminology difference worth keeping in mind: the owner says the roller brush lowers on carpet. The linked Narwal Flow description specifically says the brush cover lowers to create a more enclosed airflow path. Regional voice features and the dock’s hygiene functions also need checking against the exact local model; check their availability on the product page for your country.
For an import decision, Narwal’s official regional availability policy is decisive: it limits mainland-China products to use and after-sales support in mainland China, and says app pairing or operation may be unavailable if a product is taken to another country or region. A cross-border listing under the Freo 002 Max name does not by itself remove those restrictions. Before importing, establish the actual regional version and support arrangements. Use this report to understand the cleaning approach, then compare the models supported where you live.
