Bissell Little Green HydroSteam Pet: sofa-cleaning notes for SpotClean HydroSteam buyers

I tried the Bissell Little Green HydroSteam Pet on my pale sofa. Most marks came out, and seeing the dirty water was satisfying and slightly horrifying.

Giving the pale sofa a clean

A pale sofa looks beautiful, but it’s so hard to keep clean. The side my son usually sits on was particularly dirty; I couldn’t understand how it kept getting so many marks, and it bothered me every time I looked at it.

I finally bought the Bissell Little Green HydroSteam Pet. Straight after unboxing, I gave the sofa a thorough clean—and the result really surprised me. Stains, water marks and everyday dirt were mostly gone. Steam and suction worked together, and I felt it cleaned well without leaving the fabric excessively wet.

Choosing for everyday use

Before buying Little Green HydroSteam Pet 3618 (US) or the related SpotClean HydroSteam (UK), check that your furniture can be wet-cleaned. The owner used Little Green HydroSteam Pet 3618 on a sofa. Bissell’s US starting guide says to check the upholstery tag: W or WS is suitable for this wet-cleaning method; do not proceed if the tag shows an S with a diagonal strike-through or says Dry Clean Only. Ask the furniture manufacturer if the tag is missing.

The owner’s photographs show their sofa, but they do not supply its fabric specification, number of passes or drying time. Their positive “not excessively wet” impression should not become a drying-time promise for another sofa.

The same support guide separates applying solution from suction passes: release the trigger after spraying, gently scrub with the tool, then tilt it forward and move it slowly backwards to collect the remaining water. Plan time for that collection step and for the fabric to dry. The owner’s reported odour reduction and the dirty-water tank give useful feedback, but neither proves every deep stain or contaminant has been removed.
