Dolphin X20: Australian pool coverage notes for Dolphin S200 buyers
My Dolphin X20 picked up dust, seeds and bark in one pass. The pool floor looked almost fully covered, though the steps and edges still needed attention.
Dolphin X20 owner follow-up
I used the Bunnings model before; even after two passes, it still might not cover the entire pool.
From the thin layer of dust on the pool floor, I could tell that, apart from the steps and edges, it had basically covered everything.
The tree overhead drops a huge amount of tiny particles, seeds and pollen debris. It also picked up bark without any trouble. If it were the kind of robot connected to the pump with a hose, it would have got stuck in the hose ages ago.
I think this one is still pretty good to use.

The owner identifies the product as a wired Dolphin X20 used in Australia, but does not provide a full model number. Maytronics’ Australian page lists active floor and wall brushing and includes generic wording about waterline cleaning. Because the source unit’s exact waterline capability is not resolved, buyers should verify the local specification.

The owner’s previous Bunnings cleaner
The owner says the previous Bunnings cleaner did not always cover the whole pool even after two passes. That comparison establishes the earlier product as a reference point, but it does not identify its model, cleaning system or exact performance conditions.
Observed floor coverage
The owner observed that the cleaner had covered almost the entire pool floor, judging from a thin layer of dust, while the steps and edges were less completely cleaned. This is a useful observation for a pool with dust on the floor, but it is not a controlled coverage test.
Fine debris and bark
The owner reports that the cleaner handled many tiny particles, seeds, pollen debris and bark from the tree above the pool without difficulty. That makes the account particularly relevant to buyers whose pools collect similar outdoor debris, while remaining one owner’s observation rather than a general performance guarantee.
The owner contrasts the cleaner with a pump-connected robot using a hose, saying that type would have become stuck in its hose in this setting. This is the owner’s practical judgement; the post does not show that every hose-connected cleaner would behave the same way.
Australian X20 versus regional alternatives
Maytronics’ Australian X20 listing describes a wired Dolphin design with active floor and wall brushing. Its generic product wording also mentions waterline cleaning, so buyers should verify the exact local specification rather than assume that every X20 sold in the region has the same waterline capability.
The US and French Dolphin S200 listings describe related corded alternatives with floor, wall and waterline coverage. The US model is specified for pools up to 50 feet and includes a two-hour default cycle, fine filtration with an additional ultra-fine kit, a weekly timer and an anti-tangle swivel. The French model is specified for pools up to 12 metres and two-hour cleaning. These S200 specifications do not prove that the Australian X20 has the same features.
Buying takeaway
For an Australian buyer dealing with dust, seeds, pollen and bark, the owner’s account supports considering the wired X20 for broad pool-floor coverage, with extra attention to steps and edges. Before buying, confirm the full local model number and the exact waterline capability, because the official Australian wording and the owner’s reported experience do not fully align.
