Google Fitbit Air vs Apple Watch Series 11: a month of comfort and sleep errors
I wore Fitbit Air for a month after Apple Watch Series 11: it was light and lasted a week, but missed a nighttime interruption and mistook phone time for sleep.
I have used Fitbit Air for a month; before that, I wore Apple Watch Series 11. Overall, I find it less useful than Apple Watch, especially for iPhone users.
The wearing experience is very good. It is extremely light and compact, so I barely notice it and often forget that I am wearing it. I am quite satisfied with this, and it is probably Fitbit Air’s biggest competitive advantage.
Battery life is also long. I charge it once a week, so I do not need to bring a charger when travelling. With Apple Watch, I often worried about running out of battery.
However, the biggest problem is that the health-monitoring data is inaccurate, especially the sleep data. First, when I got up to use the toilet in the middle of the night, Fitbit did not record the interruption in my sleep. Was I using the toilet in a dream?
Second, after waking up in the morning, I spent an hour playing with my phone in bed. When I opened the app, it had actually recorded that hour as light sleep. As a result, the sleep data often contains some padding. Neither of these things happened with Apple Watch.
The fundamental reason I wear a band is to record health data. But when I found that the data was not accurate at all, I lost my trust in Fitbit Air.
For now, I plan to keep wearing it until September and then switch to a new Apple Watch.

The main trade-off is comfort versus confidence in sleep data
Fitbit Air weighs 12 g with its band in Google's US specifications. For this owner, that translated into a tracker that was easy to forget during everyday wear and sleep.
The owner reported two sleep-logging problems: a missed bathroom interruption and an hour of awake phone use classified as light sleep. Those specific experiences explain the loss of trust; this month of personal use does not establish an error rate for other owners.
Battery convenience is a clear advantage in this account
Weekly charging made Fitbit Air easier for this owner to take on trips than Apple Watch. Google's US and UK rating is up to seven days, so buyers can plan around roughly weekly charging while allowing for their own usage.
Google lists 90 minutes for a full charge and five minutes for one day of battery life. Short top-ups may therefore be useful before travel, even when there is no time for a full charge.
Check iPhone requirements before buying
Fitbit Air supports iPhones running iOS 16.4 or later in the US and UK. It uses a Google account and the Google Health app; syncing requires Bluetooth LE, internet access and location permission.
For Series 11, Apple requires a newer phone setup: iPhone 11 or later, including iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), running iOS 26+. Fitbit Air lists iOS 16.4+ support, so confirm which device your iPhone can pair with before switching.
US and UK listings identify the same product family
The US and UK listings match on weight, battery, charging and phone requirements. If importing from another country, check the seller's warranty and included band rather than assuming these purchase conditions match the local Google Store.
