Husqvarna TS 142TXD: deck-repair notes for TS 142K and TS 142T buyers
I replaced the spindles, blades and belt on my Husqvarna TS 142TXD’s noisy deck. The first cut was cleaner without using the lowest setting.
With the rainy season here, I have to mow the lawn every week. Recently, I found that the machine was not cutting cleanly and that the deck was making a squeaking, abnormal noise. More than two years ago, I took it to redXXXX for servicing and paid more than 2,000 (currency not specified), which felt like a rip-off. It took at least four months, and even after I brought it home, problems kept appearing. In the end, I bought a carburetor on Taobao and replaced it myself. The engine has been running normally for more than a year, so I decided to handle this repair myself too.
As long as you are brave enough to ask, ChatGPT is brave enough to tell you how to repair it. Ha-ha.
I bought the blade spindles; a pair cost a little over 50. I upgraded to a pair of serrated blades for 155, and the deck belt cost 30. I originally wanted to replace the pulleys too, but after checking them, they seemed fine.
Removing, installing and replacing everything took only about three hours. I checked the price at redXXXX, and it started at at least 800. And I still would not know what cheap parts they might install.
I immediately mowed the lawn once. I did not need to use the lowest setting, and it was already cut very cleanly, even though the grass was fairly wet, as shown in the last photograph. In a few days, I plan to buy an engine-service kit and service the engine, replacing the oil, filter and spark plug.

What the repair establishes
The owner replaced two blade-spindle assemblies, fitted serrated blades and replaced the deck belt, while leaving the pulleys in place after inspection. The work took about three hours, and the owner reports a cleaner first cut without using the lowest deck setting. This is a single immediate mowing result, not evidence of long-term repair durability.
The replacement parts were owner-selected aftermarket items; manufacturer approval and fit across all TS 142TXD article numbers are unconfirmed. Husqvarna’s manual calls for manufacturer-approved replacement blades, so buyers should confirm the article number, blade specification and belt fit before copying this parts list.

Wet grass and maintenance limits
The owner reports that the repaired mower cut fairly wet grass cleanly on one occasion. Husqvarna’s manual advises against mowing a wet lawn because cutting results may be poor, so this photograph and result should be read as the owner’s observed outcome rather than a recommendation to mow wet grass.
The owner planned a later engine service involving the oil, filter and spark plug, but that work had not been completed when the account was written. The repair account therefore supports a completed deck repair and one subsequent cut, not a completed full-machine service.
Safety and regional part matching
For maintenance, the TS 142TXD manual requires the engine to be stopped, the machine parked level with the parking brake applied, the key removed, the deck disengaged and the spark-plug leads disconnected. These steps matter when lifting the deck or working around the blades and spindle assemblies.
The Australian TS 142TXD support listing confirms model-specific manuals and parts support but says an article number is needed for correct support. The US TS 142K and UK TS 142T are related regional products, not confirmed equivalents, so their specifications and parts should not be used as substitutes for the owner’s machine.
