I used the IKEA HEMKOMST 28cm ceramic pan for three months

I used the IKEA HEMKOMST ceramic pan for three months with eggs, steak, dumplings and pancakes, and found it easy to clean and nonstick.

IKEA has replaced its Teflon-coated pans with ceramic-coated ones. I heard this increased costs without raising the price; to me, it seemed willing to spare no expense for everyone's health.

But I had heard many people say that IKEA's new ceramic pans stick and have other problems. I happened to need to replace the Teflon pan I already had at home, so I bought one.

After using it for three months, it really has not stuck at all. I have used it for steak, dumplings, eggs and pancakes. It is also especially easy to clean. I do not know why everyone says it is not good.

Someone joked that I must be getting the best results with it on the whole internet. Has anyone else used the same pan and found it good too? Let's compare notes!

What the three-month use showed

She reported easy release and cleanup after three months of cooking steak, dumplings, eggs and pancakes.

Her photograph shows eggs in the pan. Heat settings, oil quantities and washing habits are not stated.

Ceramic coating and care

IKEA describes a sol-gel ceramic lining over aluminium between stainless-steel layers, with no PTFE or other PFAS allowed in the coating. The owner’s health-related remarks express her own understanding; this material description is not a health guarantee.

For the China model, IKEA specifies handwashing, non-sharp wood or plastic utensils, and avoiding rapid empty heating—especially induction boost.

China and US model differences

The US 11-inch model has a stainless-steel handle and the same listed stainless-steel/aluminium/ceramic material combination. Its local care instructions also require handwashing.
