Mammotion YUKA Mini RTK: two recharges for my 1,800-square-foot lawn
My Mammotion YUKA Mini saves me mowing work, but my 1,800-square-foot lawn needs two recharges. Uncut edges and installing RTK beside paving add extra jobs.
After moving, I had a backyard lawn that was neither particularly small nor particularly large.
I previously had a 40V battery-powered mower, and mowing the whole lawn once required two batteries and left me sweating.
Hiring someone to maintain it would also have been a considerable expense, and Amazon happened to offer a discount, so I invested in a Mammotion YUKA Mini.
After using it, I was generally satisfied.
Good points
It reduced the manual work.
The mowing result was also good.
It is still basically a large remote-control car, so it is quite fun.
Drawbacks
The fixed installation design did not fully account for areas of hardscaping. Because it needs a power connection, placing it too far from the house is inconvenient, but the ground near the house has all been paved, so I could not use the included fixing stakes to secure it.
The RTK component, shown in the antenna photograph, also needs to be installed, and it cannot be too close to the house. It also needs power, so I could only run a cable above ground or bury it; with the ground paved over, burying it was difficult and the arrangement became awkward.
The automatic mapping was not good enough. The mower left an edge of lawn uncut, so manual intervention was still necessary.
GPS drift sometimes occurred.
There was no option to move the RTK component. After moving it, I had to create the map again.
The battery capacity was limited: mowing my 1,800-square-foot (about 167-square-metre) lawn required charging twice.
Overall, robotic lawn mowers and robot vacuums are still two completely different categories. As a new product category, robotic lawn mowers still have a long way to go.

The owner identifies the machine as a Mammotion YUKA Mini with RTK, but does not provide a full model number. The US and UK official listings identify the original YUKA mini RTK generation; both should be distinguished from the newer YUKA mini 2, whose navigation package is different. The owner's RTK installation experience therefore applies to the original RTK generation, not automatically to mini 2.

What the owner's experience shows
The owner's main benefit was reduced hands-on work: compared with a 40V mower that required two batteries for one pass and made the owner sweat, the YUKA Mini reduced the owner's manual effort. The owner also considered the mowing result good, but this is a single lawn and use report rather than a controlled comparison.
The owner used the mower on a 1,800-square-foot lawn, approximately 167 square metres, and reported needing two charging cycles. That observation describes this lawn and mowing conditions only; it should not be treated as a universal runtime or coverage specification.
Installation matters on hardscaped yards
The owner's installation problem was practical rather than cosmetic: the charging and RTK setup needed power, while the convenient area near the house was paved. The owner could not use the included ground stakes and found running or burying the cable awkward. Buyers with patios, paving or limited cable routes should inspect the proposed dock and RTK locations before buying.
The UK listing identifies a physical RTK reference-station setup for this original generation, supporting the relevance of the owner's installation account. The official material also distinguishes newer YUKA mini 2 navigation alternatives, so buyers should confirm the exact generation and navigation package rather than assuming every YUKA Mini has the same installation requirements.
Mapping and regional specification context
The owner reported that automatic mapping left an uncut lawn edge, sometimes suffered GPS drift and required manual intervention. Moving the RTK component also meant rebuilding the map. These observations make placement stability and map verification important parts of setup, even though they do not establish how every yard or software version will behave.
For regional reference, the US listing describes perimeter-wire-free mowing, AI vision and multi-zone app control. The UK listing identifies five-blade cutting and a claimed ability to handle slopes up to 50% or 27 degrees. Those are regional listing claims, not measurements from the owner's 1,800-square-foot lawn, and the UK page was sold out when checked.
