Carote enamel pot: a flawed purchase and a LocknLock comparison
Regional reference: CAROTE A10912 (United States Amazon original non-ad category target)
I returned a flawed Carote enamel pot and found my LocknLock replacement kept soup with little loss; I explain what I would check before buying.
In 2024,
the story was this
I had a large clay pot at home,
and thought that making soup just for myself was too much trouble,
because I could not finish it all at once.
So I thought I would buy a small clay pot,
but then I felt that I already had a clay pot.
Why not try an enamel pot instead?
Staub was too expensive,
so for someone like me who does not cook much, it did not seem to offer good value.
The first time, I chose a Carote enamel pot on JD.com,
because all my non-stick cookware had been from the same brand, although I later changed to iron cookware.
At least I had some trust in the brand, so I bought Carote.
In the end, it had many defects, and the lid did not seal.
I requested an exchange.
Who knew that the replacement would have even more defects?
I gave up and returned it.
Then I bought a LocknLock enamel pot instead.
By that point, after the first bad experience, I no longer had much hope.
Who knew it would actually be pretty good?
The lid has three support points, and throughout the soup-cooking process,
nothing boiled over, and very little steam escaped.
The amount of water added was basically the amount left after cooking;
or perhaps one-fifth was lost. Either way, it was much better than I expected.
So,
in fact, an affordable enamel pot really can be worth buying.
But you really need some luck, as well as the right brand.
This is not sponsored content, and I am not trying to disparage any brand.
I am simply giving my honest opinion.

Models in your region
The owner's red Carote pot is not identified by a complete model number, so the US CAROTE A10912 below is a related regional reference rather than a confirmed match. Its official listing identifies a 5-quart cream-white enamel cast-iron pot; that specification cannot be assigned to the owner's red pot.

The owner’s first pot failed an inspection that mattered
The owner bought a Carote enamel pot because she already trusted the brand's non-stick cookware, but she reported many visible defects and a lid that did not seal. The replacement reportedly had even more defects, so she returned it rather than treating the first sample as an isolated problem.
The photographs show blemishes and a chipped area on the red Carote pot, while the written account supplies the ownership and exchange context. The source does not identify the complete Carote model number, so buyers cannot use this account to determine whether the defects affect CAROTE A10912 specifically.
The LocknLock replacement performed better for one soup
After losing confidence in the first purchase, the owner bought a LocknLock enamel pot. During her soup-making experience, she said its three-point lid support prevented overflow, released little steam and left nearly all the added water in the pot; she estimated that about one-fifth may have been lost.
This is a single owner's cooking result, not a measured boil-off test or a general performance claim. The source does not provide the LocknLock model, recipe quantity or cooking time, so readers cannot predict the same liquid retention for every configuration or recipe.
What the US CAROTE reference does—and does not—tell you
The US regional reference is CAROTE A10912, a 5-quart cream-white enamel cast-iron pot. Because the owner's Carote pot is an unidentified red model, this official evidence establishes a related product for local buying context, not the exact cookware used in the account.
The practical buying check is therefore narrower: verify the exact SKU, inspect the enamel for visible defects and check how the lid sits before keeping the pot. The owner's exchange history shows why those checks matter, but it does not establish that every Carote pot or every A10912 has the same issue.
The owner’s conclusion
The owner concluded that an affordable enamel pot can be worth buying, but that choosing the right brand and receiving a good individual item both mattered in her experience. She presented this as an honest personal opinion rather than sponsored content or a blanket attack on any brand.
