HarveyArc Water Softener: My South London Experience With Limescale

I installed a HarveyArc after South London scale shocked me; cleaning fell from daily to every few months, while hair and skin changes remained uncertain.

A Harvey Arc water softener unit standing inside a cabinet or utility area, featuring a grey lower body and a dark tinted semi-transparent upper cover showing internal salt blocks.

In the UK, especially London, the water quality is truly something you notice for yourself. South London was particularly bad. After moving into my new home, I was shocked by the limescale, and during that period I was also getting frequent breakouts, especially around my chin and the corners of my mouth.

When I was researching how to get better skin, I happened to see claims that one major reason Korean people have good skin is their water quality. So I made a firm decision to install a water softener at home. Someone I knew recommended Harvey Water, so I went with it.

After using it, the limescale in the house visibly decreased. The frequency of cleaning limescale fell from every day to about once every few months. I don't know whether some of it was just my imagination, but I felt that I was losing less hair, and my skin was gradually improving too.

Of course, I cannot deny that I have also been steadily increasing my aerobic exercise in recent years and often sweat. That must be closely connected with having better skin. However, I also think the improved water quality played a major role, and it made me feel more reassured about drinking water.

Finally, if any friends also want whole-home water treatment, you can ask me for a referral code and receive free filter salt.

What the owner noticed

The owner's clearest reported result was a change in limescale-cleaning frequency: from daily cleaning to approximately once every few months after using the HarveyArc. This is a personal account rather than a measured hardness test, so it should not be treated as a quantified performance result.

The owner also associated the installation with less hair loss and gradually improving skin, but described these impressions as uncertain. Increased aerobic exercise and frequent sweating happened during the same period, so the post does not isolate the softener as the cause, and it provides no clinical evidence.

Installation and drinking water

Before choosing a HarveyArc, buyers should check their home's water hardness, plumbing, pressure, available space and usage. The owner's account does not provide those measurements, so her cleaning experience cannot establish how the unit will perform in another home.

The owner says the improved water quality made drinking water feel more reassuring. Official guidance says an unsoftened supply may be needed for drinking and cooking; the owner's later reply confirms that she uses a separate drinking tap, but the filter model is not specified.

Salt and ongoing upkeep

HarveyArc requires Mini Curve Salt Blocks shaped for its salt space, and the official guidance says they need to be replenished regularly. The owner's offer of free filter salt comes through a referral code; the source does not state whether she receives payment or another benefit, so this should not be read as proof of sponsorship.
