My Hurom H70FW juices four whole oranges, but leaves a final piece

Reviewed: Hurom H70FWRegional reference: Hurom H70 Easy Clean (H70FT Series) (US)

I can feed four whole oranges into my Hurom H70FW, and cleanup is easier than with my old juicer, but the last piece can spin without juicing.

A red-and-black countertop juicer stands on a kitchen counter beside a glass of orange juice and a plate of sliced white bread. A whisk and ladle hang at left, and small containers sit at right.

The juicer we had at home was nearly ten years old, so this time I went straight for the new H70FW. Here are my real-world impressions!

The extra-large feed opening means I don’t have to cut fruit into small pieces. I can put in a whole orange, and loading four at once is no problem.

I love that there’s no filter screen to wash! With my old model, the screen was clogged with pulp after every use and really hard to scrub. With this one, a rinse gets it clean.

The base feels stable and it runs quietly; I can get up early to make juice without waking everyone at home. The buttons feel solid, and the whole machine feels well made.

The juice comes out smooth, and the pulp and liquid seem well separated. The leftover pulp feels dry rather than soggy with juice, so I usually eat it after juicing.

Now for a small downside: a remaining piece of fruit can get stuck while the machine spins without extracting it, so I have to push it down with the supplied pusher. When just a little orange flesh is left, I still have to move it around with chopsticks to get all of it juiced.

I consider this a commonly recognized weakness of the machine. I knew about it before buying and can live with it.

I’ve trusted the brand for ten years. Although it’s on the expensive side, I really have confidence in its quality and durability.

The H70FW is the owner’s Chinese-market model. The related US H70 Easy Clean uses the H70FT Series manual; an exact FW/FT regional equivalence has not been established. The specifications and instructions below belong to that US version.

H70FW and US H70: hopper capacity versus preparation

The owner loads four oranges into the H70FW, yet a last piece can spin without being processed. For the related US H70, a 450 ml chamber sits below the larger self-feeding hopper; chamber capacity is not the amount of whole fruit the hopper can hold.

The US H70 is listed at 174 × 216 × 436 mm and 6.7 kg, with a maximum 30-minute continuous run. Those dimensions help plan counter space, while the owner’s experience is a reminder that a self-feeding design can still need hands-on attention near the end of a batch.

Use the supplied pusher, not chopsticks

The owner used the supplied pusher for a remaining piece and describes moving a little orange flesh with chopsticks. Hurom’s H70FT manual explicitly forbids chopsticks, spoons and other objects in the inlet: use the supplied food pusher. If that does not clear the food, switch off, unplug and wait for the motor to stop before dismantling the juicer.

For citrus, the H70FT manual calls for peeling, cutting pieces to fit the inlet and removing hard seeds. It also sets a hopper fill limit. The source does not describe whether the oranges were peeled, so “whole oranges” should not be read as a verified no-preparation method for the US model.

Easier filter rinsing still leaves parts to wash

The H70FW saved this owner the work of scrubbing pulp from the old machine’s filter screen. Smooth juice and dry-feeling pulp were also part of the positive account, though no output weights or timed cleaning test were supplied.

The H70FT manual still requires opening the juice cap and outlet covers, washing the removable parts and silicone packings, and completely air-drying them. Its dishwasher and dryer prohibition applies even though the auger is marketed as Easy Clean. Plan for that full routine when comparing it with a quick rinse.
