My MAVO French press made tea rinsing easier, but I later put it aside

I bought this MAVO French press for tea: its handle made rinsing easier, but I later reported dark spots and set it aside after about three uses.

I bought this French press after seeing someone recommend it, and I planned to use it for tea. People in Chaoshan especially enjoy tea. When guests come over, I make tea, but I find the cup I normally use to rinse the tea awkward and too hot to handle. I bought a French press instead because it has a handle I can lift. It’s easy and convenient, and rinsing the tea is much simpler.

Later owner follow-up, 2021–2022

In a June 18, 2021 reply, the author said the press was not good for tea, described it as rusting easily and reported leaving it unused. On November 3, the author tentatively recalled about three uses before putting it aside. Replies in April and May 2022 located dark, mottled spots at the metal ring. These are the author’s later descriptions; the original photos do not show the spots, and no inspection identifies their cause or the metal grade.
