Philips NA565: frozen bread and the space it needs
I bought the Philips NA565 to combine steaming and air frying. It helps revive my frozen bread, but I had to reserve a large space for it in the kitchen.
One appliance for steaming and air frying
I’d been watching this combined air fryer and steamer for a long time, and bought it when a promotion made the price reasonably good. It suits me because I didn’t want to buy a separate steamer. My reasons were straightforward.
Easy-to-clean parts
The removable cooking tray can go in the dishwasher. Its one-piece design has few awkward cleaning corners, and the divider and perforated rack are easy to wash and can also go in the dishwasher. The stainless-steel interior is largely continuous too, which makes wiping easier. The steam self-cleaning function can help.
Space for different amounts of food
The divided-basket design gives me different capacities, so I can choose the cooking area to match the amount of food. The controls are simple too.
Bringing frozen bread back
At this price, it has the functions it should have for home cooking. For me, combining a steamer and an air fryer simply lets me make a couple more dishes. I don’t bake, so this isn’t a technical baking review. But I do buy a lot of European-style bread to freeze, and I can use steam-fry and air-fry modes to bring back that freshly made texture.
Measure first
The appliance itself is very big. Check the dimensions before buying. I reserved a specific place for it in my kitchen. I’d also read other people’s reported problems beforehand, so work out your priorities and decide whether you can accept those issues before committing.

The owner names the NA565. Its wide, dividable basket and steam functions connect it to the NA565 Megabasket family sold in the UK and Germany; the owner does not give the full model suffix.

The German specification belongs to that regional product. Compare the rating label of the unit supplied to you before importing; this owner account does not replace the electrical rating and cooking instructions for your local unit.
Choosing for everyday use
The owner chose NA565 to combine steaming and air frying, and says those modes can restore the texture of frozen bread. The account gives no completed bread test. The related NA565/92 (UK) and NA565/02 (Germany) make most sense if steam reheating is already part of your routine. This owner bought bread in batches and froze it; that gives the steam modes a recurring job instead of making them an occasional extra.
For German NA565/02 buyers, Philips specifies a dishwasher-compatible ceramic-coated basket and lists the divider and cooking inserts in the supplied accessories. The owner’s description of an easy-wipe metal chamber refers to a different part from the coated removable basket. Decide which pieces you expect to put in the dishwasher and follow the local manual for each.
The German product weighs 8.2 kg. Check its dimension diagram against your counter, then allow room to withdraw the basket and fill the water tank. The owner’s dedicated counter area is a useful model for planning; this is a substantial appliance that needs accessible counter space.
The owner gives no reheating times or bread sizes. Start with the local appliance instructions and adjust for the bread you freeze, rather than treating the account as a tested recipe.
