Bambu Lab A1: One Week of Easy Setup, a Good Benchy Print and Fan Noise
After about 30 minutes of calibration, I could print a good Benchy on the Bambu Lab A1, but taller parts showed layer lines and the cooling fan could get loud.
I bought the A1 for 1,290 yuan with China's consumer subsidy, and it arrived in a very large box.
The printer was shipped fully assembled. After unboxing, I only had to remove two shipping restraints before I could start printing.
The white-and-gray body looks very attractive, and the extruder housing in particular has a strong high-tech design.
After about 30 minutes of startup calibration, I could begin printing. I did not need to adjust any settings myself.
The included Benchy test boat printed with good quality, and the speed was also quite acceptable.
The official slicing software is very easy to use while still offering many customization options. I can export a model I drew in a CAD program, make a few adjustments, and start printing, which saves a lot of time.
The main shortcomings I have found so far are that taller parts show fairly noticeable layer lines, and the cooling fan can sometimes be quite loud.
I am still working on learning how to use it.

Models in your region
The owner identifies the printer as a Bambu Lab A1 but does not provide a full model number or regional version. Bambu Lab lists the A1 and A1 Combo in the US, UK and Hungary-facing EU stores; the Combo adds an AMS lite, while the official listings do not establish the package contents, firmware or warranty of a China-purchased unit.

| Bambu Lab A1 | Bambu Lab A1 / A1 Combo (US) | The US A1 belongs to the same printer family. The official listing gives it a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume and automatic calibration. The owner’s China-market unit is not established as the same regional package, firmware or warranty version. |
| Bambu Lab A1 | Bambu Lab A1 / A1 Combo (UK) | The UK A1 belongs to the same printer family. The official listing gives it a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume and automatic calibration. It lists a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume, automatic calibration and active flow-rate compensation. Check shipping and purchase terms for your destination country; this listing is for Hungary. |

What the regional A1 listings confirm
For buyers comparing the owner’s experience with local stock, the official US, UK and Hungary-facing EU listings all identify the A1 as a 256 × 256 × 256 mm printer with automatic calibration. That supports the owner’s hands-off calibration experience as a relevant feature, but it does not independently verify the owner’s exact setup time or print results.
The listed material guidance is important when interpreting the review: PLA and PETG are described as ideal, while ABS, ASA, PC, PA and fiber-reinforced filament are not recommended. The owner’s good Benchy result does not establish performance with those other materials.
A1 or A1 Combo
The owner identifies the printer as an A1 but does not mention an AMS lite or otherwise establish the exact configuration. In the official regional listings, the A1 Combo includes AMS lite, and one AMS lite supports up to four colors. Buyers wanting multicolor printing should check the local bundle contents.
The owner reports drawing a model in a CAD program, exporting it and making a few slicer adjustments before printing. That describes their own workflow; the abbreviated source reference does not independently identify the CAD software.
What remains unverified
The owner’s report covers one week of ownership and the Benchy and at least one custom model, so it is useful evidence of setup and workflow but not a broad test of surface quality, noise or long-term reliability. The reported layer lines on taller parts and intermittent loud cooling fan remain the owner’s observations rather than a measured comparison.
The official regional pages do not establish the package contents, firmware or warranty for a China-purchased unit. If a locally sold printer is imported or differs from the regional listing, confirm those items before buying.
