Harvey, Waterdrop and Quooker: a London kitchen water setup
Regional reference: Harvey (United Kingdom); Waterdrop (United Kingdom); Quooker (United Kingdom); BLANCO (United Kingdom); Quartzforms (Europe)
I describe a London kitchen installation combining Harvey softening, Waterdrop filtration and Quooker boiling water, with BLANCO and Quartzforms finishes.
Installer’s Account
Renovating an older home in the UK, the kitchen renovation is increasingly starting to feel like systems engineering.
This time, I put considerable effort into the water system, from whole-home softening and drinking-water filtration to 100°C instant boiling water. I really went all in.
Harvey whole-home water-softening system:
People in hard-water areas of the UK truly understand the pain of limescale. I installed a Harvey water softener throughout the home, covering the kitchen, bathrooms, washing machine and dishwasher.
Reducing limescale buildup should be friendlier to taps, showerheads, appliances and the hot-water system.
Waterdrop drinking-water filtration:
After the water-softening system, drinking water passes through Waterdrop multi-stage filtration to further improve impurities, odour and taste.
The softener handles the whole-home water experience, while the purifier handles drinking-water quality. Each system has its own role.
Quooker 100°C instant boiling water:
Quooker provides 100°C instant boiling water, so there is no need to wait for a kettle to boil.
For tea, coffee, cooking and blanching vegetables, hot water is available at once. It is genuinely well suited to households that use the kitchen frequently every day.
BLANCO black-grey sink:
I chose a black-grey BLANCO sink. It is softer than pure black and feels more cohesive than traditional stainless steel.
Together with the minimalist kitchen design, it is understated but still has a sense of quality.
German Quartzforms worktop:
I chose quartz stone from German brand Quartzforms for the worktop. I like its clean, crisp appearance, and I also value its everyday resistance to stains and ease of cleaning.
The black-grey sink and quartz worktop create a very restrained overall colour scheme.
Renovation takeaway
By the end of a renovation, I realised that what really improves quality of life is often not what immediately catches the eye, but the details hidden inside cabinets and pipes and used dozens of times every day.
Whole-home softening, drinking-water filtration and 100°C instant boiling water: the ultimate kitchen-water setup for a UK household.

Models in your region
The source is a London renovation and installation account rather than an independent ownership test. The exact Harvey, Waterdrop, Quooker and BLANCO models are not identified, and the Quartzforms colour and slab model are also unknown, so the comparison below links the installation descriptions to UK or European catalogues without assigning unverified specifications.
| Model in this review | Related regional model | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Harvey | Harvey (United Kingdom) | This is the Harvey system named in the London installation account, but neither the installed model nor configuration is known. Harvey’s UK reference distinguishes softening, filter maintenance and drinking-water feeds, so buyers should confirm the exact unit and installation arrangement. |
| Waterdrop | Waterdrop (United Kingdom) | The source identifies Waterdrop multi-stage drinking-water filtration, while the UK catalogue covers under-sink filtration systems. The exact filter is unknown, so reverse-osmosis performance, certifications and contaminant reduction cannot be attributed to this installation. |
| Quooker | Quooker (United Kingdom) | The installed Quooker is described as supplying 100°C water for frequent kitchen tasks, but the tap and tank are not identified. The UK brochure describes dispensing from a small insulated under-counter tank; this is not evidence of a tankless heater. |
| BLANCO | BLANCO (United Kingdom) | The source’s black-grey BLANCO sink is paired with a dark minimalist kitchen, but its exact UK model and material are unknown. The official evidence confirms a BLANCO sink range, not the photographed sink’s SKU or construction. |
| Quartzforms | Quartzforms (Europe) | The source names a German Quartzforms quartz worktop and values its clean appearance and easy daily cleaning. The colour, slab model and independent stain performance are unknown; the European catalogue identifies quartz agglomerate surfaces only. |

The installation combines separate water jobs
The owner's setup separates whole-home treatment from drinking-water treatment: Harvey is assigned to the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and dishwasher, while Waterdrop is assigned to drinking water. This division is the practical feature to assess when planning cabinet space, plumbing and maintenance, although the exact equipment arrangement is not recorded.
The account presents reduced limescale, improved drinking-water taste and odour, and easier everyday use as intended benefits, not measured results. No water test, contaminant result, maintenance interval or independent limescale assessment is supplied, so those outcomes should not be treated as verified performance for every Harvey or Waterdrop configuration.
Quooker changes high-frequency kitchen tasks
The owner's concrete use case is repeated access to hot water for tea, coffee, cooking and blanching vegetables. Quooker's UK brochure describes 100°C dispensing from a small insulated under-counter tank, but the source does not identify the installed tap or tank, so buyers must confirm the matching local configuration and cabinet requirements.
This account describes the convenience of the installed system rather than a measured heat-up, recovery or energy test. The practical takeaway is to treat the 100°C feature as a workflow benefit for frequent kitchen use, not as evidence of a particular model's capacity or running cost.
Finish choices are coordinated but model details remain open
The owner chose a black-grey BLANCO sink instead of pure black or stainless steel and paired it with a dark Quartzforms worktop. The photographs support the visible dark, integrated kitchen look, while the official references do not establish the sink SKU, sink material, worktop colour or slab model.
For a purchase, the missing model information matters because colour, material, dimensions, mounting details and care instructions can vary within each range. The owner's claim of stain resistance and easy cleaning remains a stated preference and expectation; no independent stain or cleaning test is included.
What this London installation does and does not prove
The installation account shows how a UK renovation can combine softening, drinking-water filtration, boiling-water dispensing and coordinated sink and worktop finishes inside one kitchen plan. It does not establish long-term ownership reliability because the source is a service account, the exact models are unconfirmed and no independent testing is reported.
