PETKIT MAX: magnet and Hall-board repair notes for PuraMax 2 buyers
My PETKIT MAX kept failing to reset, even after I changed parts. A repair finally found a reversed magnet and a faulty Hall board—and it now works again.
It kept resetting. Replacing the Hall board did not solve the problem, and after opening the globe’s gear assembly I found that the magnets inside were rusty and shedding debris. I wanted to replace them, but could not pry them out.

—I removed the top cover and globe, leaving the globe gear running, and found the problem: after the magnet passed the horizontal line, it could not trigger the limit sensor, so the globe continued rotating until it was pushed out and jammed.
—I sent it away for repair. Fortunately, it was in the same province, and I only had to send the main unit, the globe latch, the globe gear and the Hall boards I had bought myself. Round-trip shipping cost 100 yuan.
—The inspection found that the magnet had been installed backwards and that the waste-bin Hall board was faulty. They replaced the faulty board with the Hall board I had sent and did not charge me a repair fee. I have received it back, and it is now working normally.
